About Michael Seward
Singer, songwriter Mike Seward based out of Nashville TN, has been playing and performing around the country for twenty plus years. Mike got his start playing rock and roll with his college band The Ramen, touring the western Rockies and entertaining the bands followers in their home base of Missoula MT. Mike auditioned for the role of lead guitar in the Seattle based GT Noah and spent three years playing festivals and concerts all over the west coast. After two stints in Europe playing in a house band in the Alps, Mike returned to the states and settled in Nashville. Mike formed the band Tennessee Traveler and in 2016 released his first solo effort, Bitteroot Lullaby with the help of nine time CMA musician of the year Mac McAnally. Whether sharing the stage with such luminaries as Carole King or playing intimate clubs in support of his new project, Mikes love of music shines through.
About John Heiks Paul
John Paul started his music career at the age of 17 in Tampa Bay, Florida, where his years of jazz gigs, ska band shows, and work in orchestra pits and musicals won him the Al Downing Jazz Scholarship Award from the Tampa Bay Jazz Association. After having been awarded the Ignation Full Scholarship in 2008, he studied bass at Loyola University. He enriched his collegiate musical education with the diverse and vibrant music scene of the New Orleans; playing in Mardi Gras bands, trad jazz groups, funk bands, bourbon street cover bands, and more. Looking to further diversify his understanding of American music, John moved to Nashville Tennessee to work at independent publishing powerhouse Big Yellow Dog Music. An advocate for helping independent artists use technology, John has hosted several panels at SXSW Interactive and SXSW Music. Currently, he is the musical director of Beer & Hymns, a raucous sing-a-long event series that has garnered multiple Nashville Scene Critic’s Picks and continues to sell out venerable clubs like Mercy Lounge. Through it all, the upright bass has been his anchor. He also leads a jazz/funk video game band called “Hey, Listen!” that was named Nashville’s Best Video Game Band in 2018.
